He has previously been bitten on two occasions and due to the severity of his reaction is now required to carry adrenalin on his person at all times. I am sure you appreciate the inconvenience of this for a child.
On the first occasion he was bitten, the whole of his body broke out in rash and we took him to hospital where he was injected with adrenalin and steroids to combat the symptoms. On the second occasion his condition, whilst similar, was significantly more pronounced and again we rushed him to hospital where the same treatment was given. In addition he required heart monitors as doctors feared ‘myocardial infarction’ which in lay terms means the destruction of heart tissue resulting from obstruction of the blood supply to the heart muscle. This is all caused by the extreme swelling as a result of the bite.
